Philip Burroughs has deep connections to the Southern Maryland area. Not only is he a resident of the area, his family has called the region their home for generations, and Philip takes great pride in this. Because of his deep admiration for the area, Philip ensures that he is incredibly active in his community; he does this by supporting and getting involved in youth sports, such as the Essex Co. Little League, King William Little League and Essex High School Football. He is also active in cancer research efforts in the community, with the Relay for Life playing a large part in his life.

Southern Maryland is also where Philip Burroughs has managed and led a successful used car dealership, The Used Car Factory. He has also learned all of his automotive and business experience in the area, and so he has great respect and love for this hometown of Mechanicsville, Maryland.
